Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of this conference are to describe and discuss the latest clinical and research advances as they apply to respiratory infections.

Upon completion of this conference, the attendees should be able to:

Target Audience

The target audience for this conference is practicing physicians, nurses, fellows-in-training, allied health personnel, basic and translational researchers, public health experts, industry scientists, and any other health care or academic professional with a major clinical or research interest in the role of the immune system as it pertains to disease pathogenesis and novel treatmenst of respiratory infections and inflammatory lung diseases.

Further, because the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC is an internationally recognized leader in pulmonary and critical care and research, the conference will also target biomedical researchers from around the United States, internationally, and within industry.

Faculty for this activity are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with any proprietary entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services, used on, or consumed by, patients.

Meeting Credit

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other health care professionals are awarded 1.3 continuing education units (CEU's) which are equal to 13 contact hours.
